Big Year - Bird Watching LBE
You are an avid birder who goes on a hot air balloon tour so that you can see elusive bird species to check off your list. It is an interactive location based “hot air balloon“ ride.
Two Weeks Team (of 5) Project
Platform: CAVE (a room where projectors are directed to three of its walls)
Software: Maya, Blender, Unity, Substance Painter, Adobe PS/AI, P4V
Role: Lead 3D Artist, Level Designer and Animator
This ride involves experience design, level design, bird researching, photography, handcrafting and improvising :D. It is a full experience of riding the hot air balloon to take photos of the birds. Due to the operative platform, we installed a basket on it to keep the guests safe. The guests can get a real polaroid photo with the “Ivory-billed woodpecker“ at the end of their experiences!
I researched multiple bird species trying to capture their unique features to model and make them pop out in the game. For example, the hairy chest of California Condor and the exaggerated round shape of blue mountain birds.
